How does the combi drum filter work?
In the Combi Drum Filter, two types of filtration occurred. The filtration in which the rotary drum filter is used is called Mechanical Filtration. This filtration removes faeces’ baits, decaying plant matter and dead insects. The filtration in which the Media tank and UV sterilizer are used is called Bio Filtration. The media tank nitrifies bacteria, removes the ammonia nitrogen and UV removes the algae.
- The drum rotary filter has a flap cover design or clean window.
- It contains time-control backwashing which is very simple to operate.
- It has a back-washing pump which can sense whether the screen is clogged and instantly performs back-washing.
- The inlet and outlets size can be customised according to the customer’s requirements.
- The bottom of the drain outlet can discharge impurities and accumulated water from the bottom.
- It has an in-line backwashing high-pressure nozzle which has higher backwashing intensity than the traditional conical backwashing nozzle which helps in saving water and electricity by 20 to 30%.

The Combi Rotary Drum filter has a drum filter screen which is a double-layer screen, SS316L made of stainless steel screen drum. This screen has 200 mesh filters that can filter 75 m impurities such as fish manure, fishing bait residue, particulate matter, algae, leaves, etc. The larger the mesh number of the filter screen, the smaller the pore size, and the more solids are retained.
It has a waterproof electric control box.
This system also has Bio moving tank and in its second chamber powerful biological filtration occurs. This chamber is standard equipped with 100~200 litres media (according to a different model), but can also be equipped with, for example, K5 media for even better biological filtration.
